Well the time has come to release my first ever EP! It sure has been a long journey from its inception until now. I will not spoil too much, but I do want to tell you that I have dedicated this work to a very important group of people. You will find that once “Sentimental Soundscapes” has been released, it is unlike most EP’s. It consist of 5 pieces of music just like most EP’s. But, the accompanying liner notes contains much more than just ‘notes.’

Anyways, I hope that you enjoy my EP. I will leave you with a teaser (below) from Sentimental Soundscapes!

EXCERPT FROM: “Sentimental Soundscapes”

Opening Letter to You, The Listeners

Dear listeners,

Would you listen to what I have to say? Right now, the world is a mess and it is getting harder to distinguish right from wrong. People are starting to focus more on themselves and their circumstances; rightfully so. As of the writing of this letter, the majority of Canadians are living paycheck to paycheck. What is more concerning is that this paycheck most of us Canadians survive on can disappear in an instant. To prevent this from happening, we work harder by putting in more hours. We make an attempt to reduce our expenses so that we can save more money to feel a sense of security and control. And if that was not enough, we are bombarded with tragic events from all over the globe. One just has to glance at the news on TV to see that things seem pretty dismal.

However, amidst all the bad, there is always going to be good! Now I am not going to give you the ‘look-on-the-brightside’ lecture as you can do that for yourself. What I am going to do is give you something that I hope will be an encouragement to you whatever your circumstances may be.

Sentimental Soundscapes (2015) is the product of deep introspection and thus is a piece of work that is entirely based on concepts. It embraces reality while attaining to notions of idealistic fantasy. Every piece of music in this EP includes audio recordings which include recorded sounds from specific physical locations. These recordings are manipulated to reflect the concept(s) behind each piece.

I invite you to experience these concepts (which are based on ‘truths’) in the form of art and I wish you well on your journey through them.
